Why not have another competition? According to the article, it sounds like a decent enough reason. There is a difference between being a user and attacking from the outside.

I think it has already proved it's point. It's been over 30 minutes and the machine hasn't been hacked yet. But when it does get hacked, then what? OS X is vulnerable to the same security problems as a lot of other OSs. This was true before the media hype and its true now.

    The test has ended yesterday, after receiving lots of dictionary and DoS attacks. Full results haven't been published yet, but apparently "There were no successful access attempts of any kind, including during the 38 hour duration of the test period, nor have their been any claims of success".
